Swedish Meatballs
Nothing beats homemade meatballs smothered in a creamy gravy sauce!
A flavourful dinner option.
Ingredients
- 500g Beef Mince
- ¾ cup Panko Breadcrumbs
- 1 Tbsp Chopped Parsley
- ¼ Tsp Ground Allspice
- ¼ Tsp Ground Nutmeg
- ¼ cup Finely Chopped Onion
- ½ Tsp Garlic Powder
- ¼ Tsp Pepper
- ½ Tsp Salt
- 1 Egg
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 5 Tbsp Butter
- 3 Tbsp Flour
- 2 Cups Beef Stock
- 1 Cup Full Cream
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tsp Dijon Mustard
- Salt/Pepper to Taste
Method
- Mix beef mince, breadcrumbs, parsley, allspice, nutmeg, onion, garlic powder, pepper/salt, and egg in a bowl.
- Roll into meatballs and cook in the frypan with olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter continuously turning until cooked through and set aside.
- Add 4 tablespoon butter and flour to the frypan and whisk till it turns brown.
- Slowly stir in beef stock and cream.
- Add Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard and simmer till sauce thickens.
- Add salt/pepper to taste.
- Add meatballs back to the frypan and simmer for another 1-2 minutes.
- Serve with rice or noodles.
