Saucy Meatballs

250g mushrooms, sliced
2 carrots, diced
1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
1 tesaspoon dried mixed herbs
500g lean minced pork
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon each: water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar
2 1/4 cups good pasta sauce

Cooking Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180oC. Place the mushrooms and carrots in a casserole dish.

Combine the breadcrumbs, mixed herbs, minced pork, egg and water. Form into golf ball-sized meatballs. Place on top of the vegetables. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the top.

Cover and cook in the oven for 1 1/4 hours. Alternatively, cook on low in a slow cooker for 6 hours. Serve on spaghetti or fettuccine.
