Oven Made Hāngi

Great alternative for those who can't do the traditional method
Perfectly cooked, and absolutely flavoursome!
Ingredients
- 1 kg bolar roast
- 4 lamb chops
- 4 carrots
- 1/4 pumpkin
- 4 potatoes
- 1 cabbage
- 1 cup beef stock
Method
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
- Layer the bottom of the roasting dish with two layers of tin foil, then layer again with leaves from the cabbage. Then lay the roughly chopped carrots, pumpkin and potatoes into the dish. Lay the brisket on top, followed by the lamb chops.
- Pour over stock, and cover the dish with a second layering of cabbage leaves.
- Cover the dish with two layers of tin foil or the roasting dishes lid, and cook for 3 hours. Check to see if it is cooked after 2 1/2 hours.
Handy Tips
Note: Feel free to use other meat alternatives like chicken or stewing beef. If cooking in a slow cooker or crock pot, cook on low for 6-8 hours
