It can be hard to perfect your steak to exactly how you want it. From selecting the right cut of meat, seasoning it for flavour, nailing the pre-heating rules to cooking the meat exactly how you like it.
We have provided some basics below on how to cook your steak as desired - rare, medium or well done.
Cook each side for 2 minutes, turning once only.
Description: Internal very red colour, very moist, red juices.
Internal Temperature: 55-60˚C
Touch test: Very soft to touch.
Cook each side for 4-6 minutes, turning once only.
Description: Internal pink colour, moist, clear to pink juices.
Internal Temperature: 65-70˚C
Touch test: Firm and springy.
Cook each side for 2-4 minutes. Reduce heat and cook a further 4-6 minutes each side.
Description: Internal stone grey colour, dry, clear or no sign of pink juices.
Internal Temperature: 75˚C
Touch test: Very firm to touch.
