Bacon & Cheese Scones

This cheese and bacon scone recipe is a Kiwi staple!
Serve slathered with plenty of butter with your morning or afternoon cuppa!
Ingredients
- 2 cups plain flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup sour cream
- ¾ cup cheese
- ¼ cup cooked bacon
- ½ tsp pepper
- butter or oil for brushing
Method
- Preheat oven to 200°C. Mix together the first 3 ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
- Using your hands rub the butter into flour mixture until the mixture resembles a crumble like texture.
- Place in the freezer for 5 minutes. Remove from the freezer and add the rest of the ingredients to create a dough.
- Cut 8 wedges out from the dough, and on a lightly greased baking sheet, place the wedges 2 inches apart and brush the tops with butter or oil.
- Bake for 13-15 minutes or until golden.
