FreshChoice and SuperValue supermarkets are encouraging customers to give back to their local community through the Give Local campaign backed by New Zealand based social media site Neighbourly.

Specially marked collection trolleys have taken pride of place in the Picton, Renwick and Seddon stores, making it simple for people to donate to those in need.

Pip Wheatley and fiance Chris Elliffe​ are the new owners of the SuperValue store in Renwick. The pair are keen to help out the community as much as possible and have already donated food to pupils at Renwick School for their school camp last week.

"We are new to the area but already love living in Renwick and it's the time of year when we should be thinking of others.

"Our customers have been really generous and it's great to know it will go to those who need it the most," Pip says
